Two hours of bliss.

May 28th 2008 will be one day in my life I would love to keep thinking about forever. It was an amazing evening..and adding to that I actually met a friend..o.k can't call him a friend actually but yeah a friend (lol). He was the guy who taught me TREASURE-HUNTING. Yeah! Totally funny. But now he's the opposite. I remember him as the guy who loved playing around and read books..and yeah make sure the other person is also having fun along with him. Well yeah! lol I did have fun ...but one thing I realized talking to him was he's a lot more practical than anybody I met.
Anyway, I'll write the talk I had with him later in the post..first comes the concert.

Reached the venue at 7:00pm sharp. We were never that punctual actually and luckily we got the front row seats. Dad got the passes for the V.V.I.P's and wow! Well apparently Shivamani came and he sat right in front of us. My dad met his 'favorite' storyteller. Well she happened to be the one who kept telling him stories when my dad was a kid. Nice. Apparently her son was the one who taught me treasure-hunting.;-) While everybody were busy chatting away I met Bhargav and wow realized he was not the normal teenager. O.K. He writes poetry. Poetry on death. Says death is the only thing we can be sure of in our life. Nice idea but..ah what ever. People have their own tastes and likings.

At exactly 7:05pm the program started by introducing the artists. They were an Australian orchestra and the Indians were from an organization called "Sruthi laya". It was named as an "Oceanic Dream". Catchy right? The music was catchy too. It was the best I heard till date. They sang numerous bhajans and for a second you actually won't believe they are playing Indian classical. The fusion of the music was like the river meeting the ocean. (you call them estuaries actually)
In between a very well trained Bharatnatyam dancer(Famous dance of the Tamil nadu state if you don't know), Rajeswari Sainath. We were awe-struck by her performance. She could match her steps with the music, music which was party classical party western.

While Bhargav and me were discussing about LAW...I realized I actually under-estimated the law schools of our country. Well they are pretty much impressing. I remember mum telling me she wanted a lawyer from our family and Blah blah blah. But well I still don't say am going to get into LAW now.

AT 9:00pm the band actually played a song (they said it was a bangla folk song). A song the whole nation knows. A song the whole nation would be proud listening to (am i sounding a bit too patriotic??well actually at that moment I was! :-) ) It was Vande-mataram. It was played well. The only woman playing it along with the band was the saxophonist. The band did a great job. In the end they were awarded for their splendid performance! Truly Aamzing! Every body enjoyed the show. And well it was over. I had a great time and yeah! I met the treaure-hunter too after something like ages. Nice evening. And we went over for dinner to 100 degrees. A restaurent you'll love having food at. At least I do. And we went over for an ice-cream at 11:30pm. Our family doctor, A dentist actually, and his family, dined with us. We had fun totally. Some how my mind kept dragging me back to the auditorium...back to the artist...back to the seat behind Shivamani...It was a fun-filled evening and an evening I'll never forget....( after all am a fusion music fan!) or may be it wont let me forget it?
